For many years, after the 2011 NBaDraft and being selected by the Indiana Pacers who was then traded to the San Antonio Spurs, Kawhi Leonard has worked hard to achieve what he is right now. During his years in the Spurs, Kawhi was known for his defense and know his role for the team. The Spurs basketball was almost perfect that time having a great offense and defense. Partaking in offense was stars Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Tim Duncan. In defense, Kawhi was indeed a great defender together with Tim Duncan.
Kawhi won his first NBA championship with the Spurs and was named as Finals MVP. Kawhi defended well against Wade and Lebron that made some talks about Kawhi being the kryptonite of the King, Lebron James. It was the end of Heat dynasty because the Spurs prevented the Heat of having a three peat.
Kawhi Leonard was then nicknamed The Klaw because of his huge hands that is in advantage when defending players. The Klaw improved his game so much with the help of Lakers Legend Kobe Bryant. After the retirement of Tim Duncan and with Tony Parker traded, he carried the Spurs to the playoffs but was then eliminated due to a devastating injury that occured during the collision of Zaza Pachulia.
When Kawhi was traded to the Raptors, his offense was getting better and better that his making jumpshots. His moves are making a resemblance of Jordan and Kobe's moves. With him improving his offense, Kawhi was then talked about being the best two way player in the NBA. Kawhi just do everything on the court both offense and defense.
During the 2018-2019 playoffs and NBA finals, Kawhi has shown a great clinic of offense and defense. Though his team was considered an underdog during the playoffs when having a 2-1 deficit against 76ers and a 2-0 deficit agains Bucks. Well, Kawhi has proved that he could compete against the NBA biggest stars like Giannis, Lebron and Durant.
A lot of NBA players had agreed on being Kawhi as the best two way player ever. Even NBA legend Michael Jordan agrees on it. Kawhi has now two championships and two finals MVP. And both of his earned championships are impressove where he was ending a dynasty. He was able to prevent the Heat and the Warriors from having a three peat.
With his achievements that he earned through his hardwork, maybe its time for him to enter the debate of being the Greatest Of All Time in the NBA
