While I was not alive when this show was being filmed, it remained relevant (and on TV every weekday after school) well into the 80's. It is likely still on TV now and holds a special place in my heart.

the cast reunites for an upcoming HGTV series
If you have never seen the original Brady Bunch, you really should check out an episode or two. This wholesome, family-oriented series taught lessons to kids without being too preachy about it.
While the episodes never had any topic matter that was terribly dramatic, they somehow managed to generate enough material to make this show entertaining enough to carry on for 5 years. This isn't a really long time for a show to be on air, yet The Brady Bunch remains one of the most famous shows of all time. inspiring two Hollywood movies that made quite an impression at the box office.
There are still a number of networks that do rerun sessions of the series, primarily on weekends and while I will admit that the production value and outdated references would probably fall flat for most of the younger audience (if you were born after say, 1985) this cultural icon is something that I think will be remembered forever.
The new series focuses on a recent rebuild of the Brady Bunch house, including the entire interior of said house is the focus of the new HGTV series. Stars of the original show have commented about how strange it was to be in this real house because the one used in the show was simply a sound stage (this seems obvious if you watch an episode) because various doors and hallways didn't actually lead anywhere at all. It will be interesting to see because the house exterior wasn't actually capable of holding all of the rooms that the TV show house had in it. The house and grounds therefore had to be extended to accommodate this.

Apparently they experienced difficulty in finding what is now antique pieces to furnish the Brady House and many private collectors chipped in to complete the total Brady experience.
I don't know if this upcoming show will appeal to a wide-audience, but for me, I am extremely excited about it and will watch with a level of interest that someone who was born after 1980 might have difficulty relating to.
