This film was actually recommended to me by a family member and well, it wasn't exactly what I was expecting. It is going to be a bit difficult to explain this one without SPOILING so I'll just say this and then you can skip the rest of my review if it sounds interesting to you.
This movie is a crime-thriller that doesn't exactly take the usual path that you might expect in a movie. That much about it is interesting. It is shocking and hunting at the same time, which is good.
It is actually classified as a "black comedy" and I have no idea who chose that as a genre but I am going to go ahead and say that I disagree with that label as there is very little in the way of comedy in the film at all.
From this point forward there are spoilers, so the score I give is
7 / 10
The two stars Shane and Clayton Jacobson are actually real brothers in real life and they do a really solid job with their acting, so this is one of the high points of the movie for me. Bravo!
While I can give them high marks for originality, a absolutely perfect musical score, and shock value, I have to deduct a few points because an awful lot of the movie is quite boring. I skipped parts of it (not much) but just because it was becoming a bit tedious and the dialogue was running around in circles.
As you can tell from the poster, this won a bunch of minor awards and I believe that it deserves them. However, I don't think that the good aspects of this movie can entirely make up for how I feel it is much longer than it needs to be and a bunch of unnecessary dialogue is included. I'm glad I saw the movie, but would be hard-pressed to sit through it again.
