When you go to an island where there are no cars and many of the roads that you drive your rented scooter on are at least partially dirt, you don't really expect to encounter a pizzeria that is done is an exceptionally professional way including a massive menu with really any option you could imagine... at least I don't. This is where Paulo's is truly another hidden gem of this wonderful island.
The menu is filled with all the pizzas you could imagine (except pepperoni, sorry Americans!) and the food came out quickly and was served by very friendly staff. You can see the kitchen from the dining room and I always like when this happens because you know there are no tricks like microwaves involved in the cooking process.
We ordered the 8 inch pizzas because there were so many options we wanted to try. All of these options were 100 Baht each and they were ready super-fast.
didn't mean for this pic to feature bewbs, but it does that too
We also ordered a gnocchi 3 cheese and i was thinking as we ordered that there is no way this is going to be good out here in the middle of nowhere. Boy was i wrong as it was astounding!
They have a comfortable dining area that is completely covered (trust me, this is important in the tropics) with plenty of fans and light music playing at just the right volume. They wont win any awards for their plastic furniture anytime soon but really, it gets the job done.
This might be some of the best pizza I have had anywhere in Thailand and this is shocking considering how much extra work must going into the business acquiring their supplies in the middle of an island that is 30 minutes from the coast on a speedboat.
A truly remarkable experience, Paulo's Italian Pizzeria is a "must go" location on this island for all visitors.
