On this occasion, I visited a small village in the municipality of Palavecino called “Papelón.” It is located in the eastern part of the city of Cabudare, in the rural area of the municipality.

I have visited this small area several times because a woman who buys cakes from my wife lives there, and I take her there every time we have to make deliveries.

It is a very small hamlet consisting of a single dirt road lined with several rural homes. Before reaching the hamlet, you have to leave the paved road and take a long street lined with lush trees, where you can see land used for livestock and agriculture.

Along the way, we came across the small local school, which looks a bit worn down by the passage of time but serves an important social function, providing early childhood education to the children of this rural village.

Although Papelón is only 20 minutes from the city center, it is clear that it is a hamlet where progress has not yet arrived. The road connecting the area to the highway leading to the Rio Turbio power plant is very uneven, making vehicular access somewhat difficult.

People walk about a kilometer from the road to their homes every day because the roads do not lead into the hamlet.
They also do not have piped water and rely on water tankers supplied by the municipal government or paid for by them.

When you enter the hamlet, it feels as though you’re arriving in a countryside far removed from the city. It has plenty of trees that provide ample shade and also bear fruit, such as the tree laden with mangoes.

Un breve recorrido por el sector "Papelón"

Saludos estimados amigos de esta comunidad que nos lleva a recorrer diferentes lugares del mundo, les deseo lo mejor en este miércoles de caminata.

En esta oportunidad estuve de visita a un pequeño poblado del municipio Palavecino llamado "Papelón". Está ubicado en la parte este de la ciudad de Cabudare en la zona rural del municipio.

En varias ocasiones he visitado este pequeño sector pues allí vive una señora que le compra tortas a mi esposa y yo la llevo cada vez que hay que hacer las entregas.

Es un caserío muy pequeño formado por una sola calle de tierra en la cual se ubican varias viviendas rurales. Antes de llegar al caserío hay que dejar la carretera de asfalto y tomar una larga calle llena de frondosos árboles, donde se aprecian terrenos dedicados a la ganadería y la agricultura.

En el camino nos encontramos con la pequeña escuela del sector, que se ve un poco deteriorada por el paso del tiempo, pero que cumple una gran función social, como lo es la educación inicial a los niños de ese poblado rural.

A pesar de que Papelón esta a solo 20 minutos del centro de la cuidad, se nota que es un caserío donde aun no ha llegado el progreso. La calle que comunica el sector con la vía hacia el central Rio Turbio, presenta muchas irregularidades, por lo que se hace un poco complicado el acceso vehicular.

La gente camina aproximadamente un kilómetro desde la carretera hasta su casa diariamente porque las rutas no entran al caserío.
Tampoco cuentan con agua por tubería y se abastecen mediante camiones cisternas que les suministra la alcaldía del municipio o pagadas por ellos.

Cuando se entra al caserío parece que estuviéramos llegando a un campo muy alejado de la ciudad. Tiene abundantes árboles que dan mucha sombra y también frutos, como el árbol que está cargado de mangos.
