The city never stops. Even when everything seems slow, there's always something happening between one corner and another. It was walking through the streets I frequent, through the places that are part of my routine and my routes, that I began to realize how many stories live hidden in the details that almost no one notices. This photo series was born precisely from that: the desire to record what normally goes unnoticed in the midst of the rush. These aren't images of tourist spots, perfect places, or planned moments. They are real snapshots of the street as it is, alive, marked by time, by the movement of people, and by the energy that each corner carries.
A cidade nunca para. Mesmo nos momentos em que tudo parece lento, sempre existe alguma coisa acontecendo entre uma esquina e outra. Foi caminhando pelas ruas que eu frequento, pelos lugares que fazem parte da minha rotina e dos meus trajetos de passagem, que comecei a perceber quantas histórias vivem escondidas nos detalhes que quase ninguém olha. Essa série de fotos nasceu exatamente disso: da vontade de registrar o que normalmente passa despercebido no meio da correria. Não são imagens sobre pontos turísticos, lugares perfeitos ou momentos planejados. São recortes reais da rua como ela é, viva, marcada pelo tempo, pelo movimento das pessoas e pela energia que cada canto carrega.

Each photo represents a unique moment within a constantly changing scene. The same street is never the same, because the light changes, the people change, the sounds change, and the city's atmosphere transforms everything around it. At times, the street seems heavy, burdened by smoke, concrete, and the rush of those who just want to get home. At other times, it offers small respites: a conversation on the sidewalk, a child running, a reflection in the bus window, a bicycle passing by, a lost gaze in the middle of the crowd. These are simple details, but they say a lot about life happening daily around us.
Cada foto representa um instante único dentro de um cenário que muda o tempo todo. A mesma rua nunca é igual, porque a luz muda, as pessoas mudam, os sons mudam e o clima da cidade transforma tudo ao redor. Em alguns momentos, a rua parece pesada, carregada pela fumaça, pelo concreto e pela pressa de quem só quer chegar em casa. Em outros, ela entrega pequenos respiros: uma conversa na calçada, uma criança correndo, um reflexo no vidro do ônibus, uma bicicleta passando, um olhar perdido no meio da multidão. São detalhes simples, mas que dizem muito sobre a vida acontecendo diariamente ao nosso redor.

Photographing these places was a way to see more calmly the paths that are part of my experience. Places that many people see only as a passageway, but which carry identity, memory, and presence. The street speaks all the time, even without using words. It expresses itself in the scratched walls, in the lampposts covered with advertisements, in the marks of time scattered across the buildings, in the neighborhood shops, in the sounds of cars, in the people who occupy these spaces every day trying to follow their own paths. There is humanity in every urban detail, even amidst the chaos.
Fotografar esses lugares foi uma forma de enxergar com mais calma os caminhos que fazem parte da minha vivência. Lugares que muita gente vê apenas como passagem, mas que carregam identidade, memória e presença. A rua fala o tempo inteiro, mesmo sem usar palavras. Ela se expressa nas paredes riscadas, nos postes cobertos de anúncios, nas marcas do tempo espalhadas pelas construções, nos comércios de bairro, nos sons dos carros, nas pessoas que ocupam esses espaços todos os dias tentando seguir seus próprios caminhos. Existe humanidade em cada detalhe urbano, mesmo em meio ao caos.

This series is also about belonging. About understanding that the places we pass through daily end up leaving marks on us without us realizing it. For a long time, I walked through these streets automatically, like anyone else trapped in routine. But when I started to truly observe, I realized that each scene carried its own aesthetic, a unique energy, and small narratives happening simultaneously. The camera became a way to freeze these moments before they disappeared into the flow of the city.
Essa série também fala sobre pertencimento. Sobre entender que os lugares que atravessamos diariamente acabam deixando marcas na gente sem percebermos. Durante muito tempo eu passei por essas ruas no automático, como qualquer outra pessoa presa na rotina. Mas quando comecei a observar de verdade, percebi que cada cenário carregava uma estética própria, uma energia única e pequenas narrativas acontecendo ao mesmo tempo. A câmera virou uma forma de congelar esses instantes antes que eles desaparecessem no fluxo da cidade.

I didn't seek to romanticize the street or transform it into something it's not. The intention was precisely to show its truth: raw, intense, disorganized, and human. To show the beauty that exists in ordinary daily life, in forgotten spaces, in anonymous people, and in the details that survive amidst the concrete.
Não busquei romantizar a rua nem transformar ela em algo que não é. A intenção foi justamente mostrar sua verdade: crua, intensa, desorganizada e humana. Mostrar a beleza que existe no cotidiano comum, nos espaços esquecidos, nas pessoas anônimas e nos detalhes que sobrevivem no meio do concreto.

Because in the end, the street is a reflection of those who live on it. And these photos are an attempt to record not only the places I pass through, but also the feelings, atmospheres, and silences that exist along those paths.
Porque no final, a rua é um reflexo de quem vive nela. E essas fotos são uma tentativa de registrar não só os lugares por onde passo, mas também os sentimentos, atmosferas e silêncios que existem nesses caminhos.
