Queens of the Stone Age - Sick,Sick Sick
Queens of the Stone Age,
abbreviated as QOTSA, are a band formed in 1996 in Palm Desert, California. Their guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Josh Homme was in one of the major "Stoner Rock" bands of the early '90s, Kyuss, but after they broke up, he wanted to try and do something different, and QOTSA was formed. They have grown a lot since their early albums, incorporating lots of crazy harmonies and interesting riffs, and using some of the most amazing guitar tones throughout their albums. They are definitely a Rock band, but sort of only in structure, definitely not in timbre or harmonically. They also write really interesting lyrics and have some incredibly catchy melodies and choruses.

This song is the second on their 2007
album Era Vulgaris, which is an amazing album in totality, and is probably my second favorite after ...Like Clockwork. This track has a simple main riff, basically just chugging the same note, but the driving rhythm and vocals around it make the song super interesting. The Choruses use the same riff, but it feels like it's moved to the parallel major key, as the guitar slides up 2 whole steps then back down. Awesome little decision that makes the whole song really connected through the chuggy guitar, but not overly repetitive.
