Visiting the old cement factory was part of our short trip to Northern Estonia with some friends in Spring. This is located in a town named Kunda which is quite near the sea in northern Estonia.
The factory was built in 1870, right next to the Kunda river. The factory was working until 1965 when it was finally closed and abandoned because a new one was built, also in Kunda.
Large trees all grow in and around the buildings so it's good that we visited this in the spring. It would be hard to see this place when all the trees have leaves on them.
Of course. It's a bit dangerous walking there. You really need to see where you step. There are holes in the ground and you can easily fall into one if not careful enough.
Once a cement-burning furnace and a chimney still standing. It was forbidden to go into it but my curiosity was too high not to peek into it. Pretty cool view up.
