The zoo in Omaha, Nebraska is consistently ranked one of the top zoos in the United States. We visited some of the animals there recently and I wanted to share a few of my favorite photos from the day.
This adorable baby snow leopard was rambunctious and rested just long enough for me to snap a picture. The baby spent most of the time bounding around the enclosure.
I have mixed feelings about zoos in general, as it bothers me to think about the more intelligent animals in captivity. Still, it is pretty amazing to have an opportunity to see them up close.
I couldn't stop watching this mother gorilla, who admired her baby much like a human would.
These lemurs evidently enjoyed napping on the human stairs more than on the various areas that had been crafted for them in their elaborate habitat.
The zoo has a fairly new attraction, a lift that actually travels over several of the enclosures. It seems to be the best way to see the rhinos, who were resting just under it.
My favorite animal is the giraffe, so I'm finishing up the post with these beauties! Hope you enjoyed the photos!
