I really like drawing hair, there's a freedom & flow thats hard to capture in other forms.
Leonardo da Vinci, in his annotations for drawings of plants & water noted the analogy of flowing water and tussled hair, "Note the motion of the surface of water, which resembles hair". I read this in a book i own - Da Vinci in detail: Leonardo's life and work - the definitive edition and it rung a bell, it changed the way i look at hair when i draw.
I don't focus on drawing individual hairs or capturing a hair style.
I focus on the weight and flow of forms.
I think of water.
