So back when the Xbox 360 was the only next gen console people cared about I used to play Gears Of War every night for hours and hours. Back in the day party chat had only just become a thing and most people still talked in game chat.
Picture the scene, I'm playing team Deathmatch on the level Gridlock with a friend in the same party as well. We are doing well and manage to take out all the enemy team aside from one player.
This player proceeds to kill everyone left on my team including my friend, I thought I was done for. I searched the map far and wide to try and find this guy, but he was fast and always seemed to be at the opposite end of the map.
I'm not sure if you have played Gears Of War but the sniper was the weapon of choice for real pro players (I'd like to think I was one of them) I picked up the sniper and started to scope out the map at this point the clock was ticking and we only had 1 minute left to find each other and finish the game.
I didn't want the game to end with a draw so my friend on party started to help me out and told me where he thought the opposite player was. I ran to the other side of the map and saw him.
With only 10 seconds remaining I sprint down a corridor knowing the other guy was around the corner at the other end.
Just as I approached the corner I barrel rolled around the corner and took one shot...that one shot hit the opposing player in the head, and just like that it went pop and we won the round.
I jumped and screamed and so did my friend. I nearly choked myself on the wire from my headset but it didn't matter. I can safely say that will never happen to me again in all the time that I play games and unfortunately it was back before you could record an in-game clip.
I hope you like my story and I can guarantee this is 100% true I just wish I had a video to prove it :)
