Hey All,
Online shopping the first name that comes to mind is Amazon. We instantly think, Let us check it on Amazon. I am a frequent Amazon user, and there’s no doubt that we do get some really good offers on the platform. But off lately what I have been observing is that it is becoming very difficult to reach out to the customer support representative. I recently had this bad experince while purchasing a household utility product and I am 100% sure while ordering I made sure to check that it has a Return policy i.e. you can return the product if you dont like it and no questions asked. Here is the product that was purchased and after following all those difficult steps to reach the customer support, I was finally able to return the product.
Coming to the main point, once I received the product, it looked like a used item, and moreover, it wasn’t compatible with my washing machine, making it completely useless for me. When I tried to return it, to my surprise, the product page showed that it was not returnable and could only be exchanged for a similar item. How is this even possible? I was genuinely shocked, so I decided to contact customer support. I tried every option within the app, but there was no way to reach a support executive. Eventually, I had no choice but to call the toll-free number for help. After so many attempts I was able to connect to the support staff and having explained him all the matter - he said Sir I need you to confirm that you are contacting us.How on earth can a multi-billion-dollar company expect customers to simply click a random link to confirm their identity? Here is the message that I got from them to confirm my identity.
At first, I clearly refused and said I wasn’t going to click any link. I told him he could confirm my identity by asking questions related to my account instead. But he was reluctant and insisted that only the link-based method would allow him to help me. With no options left and after having done my due deligence I decided to click and the can confirm that it is me who is contacting them. A very bad experince for customer and the worst part is there is not other way to reach out to the customer staff. I remember that earlier, the app had an option to contact support even if the query wasn’t linked to a specific order. But now, there seems to be no way to do that. Welcome to the AI world — AI is here to help, but the experience wasn’t great at all. I needed to speak to a representative, and I simply couldn’t reach one. So you can clearly see how things are changing, and the shopping experience is getting worse day by day. What once used to be a seamless and customer-friendly expereince has now turned out to be complicated, rigid, and surprisingly unhelpful for regular users. Basic support is harder to access, return policies are getting stricter without clarity, and AI-driven systems often end up blocking the very basic assistance that is required. I just hope Amazon revisits these issues and restores the trust and convenience it was once known for. Ok this should be it for todays post on - "Amazon Shopping: Getting More Frustrating Than Ever? Difficult to reach out to Customer Support Representative.." Let me know about your expereince with Amazon and did you notice something like this around the return policy being changed all of a sudden.... Cheers
