Alien Egg Hatchery, Bisti Badlands, New Mexico
Littel different to what I normally do.
If you have seen my latest travel post and Location Check you may have seen some of these. In this post, I want to highlight the individual eggs that I found. Not Easter but scary aliens sources. The scary thing is they seem to have hatched and some aliens are running amongst us. Bullshitting aside let us talk about photography 😎

Waiting for the Sun to set. I start to get out of the camera and run around to find the most interesting shapes.
Getting there was not particularly difficult but a looong way from anything else you would normally travel to. But absolutely worth it.

If you also read my article you know that I did not spend nearly enough time to feature all Eggs I wanted. I just did not have the time to take more shots because a Thunderstorm walked right into the scene. But let us have a look at what I got.

Today you see the simplest way of light painting. No fancy extras that are limited to taste. Here I really try to only feature the shape of the rock formation. In other shots, it might be different.
The Light Painting you see here is a single 10-second exposure time photograph. The camera was always set to ISO 320 and the Laowa Zero D F2.8 Lens to a very high F-Stop like F16. I really wanted to keep the background as dark as possible. to highlight the formation only. Then just using a flashlight I lit up the Egg.

Here you see the behind-the-scenes setup foto. Surprising is the size of these. These are not that big.
Hier sehen Sie das Behind-the-Scenes Setup-Foto. Überraschend ist die Größe dieser. Diese sind nicht so groß.

Same principle for the other eggs.
Gleiches Prinzip für die anderen Eier.

What were the settings for this one ??
Here we have a short 3.6-second exposure time Light Painting. The camera was always set to ISO 320 and the Lens to F16.

What were the settings for this one ??
Here we have a short 7.3-second exposure time Light Painting. The camera was always set to ISO 320 and the Lens to F16.

The area is overwhelming
The shapes you find are just "outer-worldly".
Since these eggs are laying around so nicely it could have been so nice to get more of these shots and make it a series. Have look at this area.

If you want to see more see you can still watch the video. Of this trip. Get a quick impression of the area and the Bisti / De-Na-Zin Wilderness Area in New Mexico as part of my latest Location Check 013

I hope you found these images inspirational. If you have more questions please do not hesitate. I am happy to share my knowledge.
If you think this is Spam, why did you read this far and why the fuck bother you? Move on from your self-righteous mind state and bury yourself. Don't bother about what others may find interesting. Just stay in your bubble and ...
All there is left to say is Cheer Up!
