It is a longstanding tradition (if there can be any "longstanding" traditions) on Steemit to announce and celebrate milestones and achievements.
This week in my steemit world I turned (50)! Applause! Applause! Applause!!!
"Thank you my fellow Steemians for all your wonderful support. I want to thank the Academy for this great honor." (Oops wrong speech).
Actually, at this point in the blog I could probably type just about anything because the truth is most of those 650 Followers, have never read anything I ever wrote. Many of them are in fact "dead" accounts.
So if you have gotten this far, let me tell you what I think about Steem. I think in many ways it is a true blood sport, especially if you are here to get rich quick. (By the way there is a way to do that, well not quick but you could earn more than a living wage).
What we have here is a real world 2 dimensional Mad Max Thunderdome situation, many enter and few remain!
And it is to those few, we lucky few, we band of brothers, for whoever, has read this blog thus far, is this day my brother. And men in their beds not here in Steem, not fortunate to keep our company this day, shall hold their manhood cheaply and rue the day that they did not join with us! And old men, dying in their beds shall rouse themselves at the mention of this day , and proudly declare "I stood with upon that day!"
Not exactly Shakespeare, which is probably why most of my followers are "dead accounts". But in all fairness so are all the original Shakespeare fans, dead I mean, so he and I have that in common. The good news to all of you who are reading this then know I regularly try to pop by and see how you are doing.
To all my fellow Steemians, both the Great and the Small, I thank you for this wonderful time! Though I may in my nature be base, common and somewhat POPULAR, from your encouragement, friendship and companionship I am made more bold and certainly more noble. I encourage you all to stay active and engaged and together we shall all rise!
Okay, if you have read this nonsense this far, in celebration or apology, (and you can check my wallet I am good for this),
the first person in the comments who can name the Shakespeare Play (that i knicked) along with the day and location of the speech, I will transfer 1 Steem! So to be clear, the play, the day and the location! Seeing as none will have read this blog unto the end my steem is safe!
Once again thank you for your support and kindness.
