Yesterday afternoon i spent my afternoon walking around Benjakiti Park i got to say is arguably Bangkok’s prettiest green space. This is the place in Central Bangkok you can enjoy peace and quiet or a romantic sunset stroll.
Benjakiti Park occupies 130 rai (some 21 hectares) The park is well know for it's relatively large lake surrounded on all sides by well-groomed flower bushes and trees a very photogenic scenery.
You can enjoy a cruise on a pedal-powered swan boat, canoe or little row boat for a small hiring fee and take in all the beauty of the photogenic reflections of surrounding skyscrapers.
Benjakiti Park provides one of the best scenical walkways and running track that attracts a fair number of joggers every morning and early evening stretches for two kilometers around the lake.
Benjakiti Park also boasts a separated bicycle lane that makes it possible for cyclist to go as fast as they like with little interference. Bikes of all sizes can be rented for 40 baht per one hour, won’t find a better place in central Bangkok to ride than Benjakiti Park .
The west side of the park includes a stretch of grassy slopes with several seating and activity areas shaded by low-hanging palms. A couple of small playgrounds, a skateboard/freestyle bicycle ramp, meditation area and basic exercise equipment all is there for your use free of charge.
If you need a respite from the crowds and noise, apart from the romantic sunsets Benjakiti Park is the place to be. I thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon and evening in this beautiful peaceful, colorful park. A must visit if ever in Bangkok.
The evening views across the lake are just spectacular.
