As a young lad, i ventured into several schemes and programs in a bid to be financially free. One of those program is High Yield Investment Program( HYIP)
HYIP are investment scam that promotes unsustainably high return on investment by paying previous investors with the money invested by others ( robbing Peter to pay Paul). This was a means of livelihood before discovering most of this schemes are fraudulent and scams. Truth be told, a few of this schemes was a blessing to the smart ones but most of it defrauds investors of their hard earned money.
I was a victim to some of these schemes and also a victor to a few but these schemes were not dependable since there is a very high risk of losing your money. I invested in these schemes probably because i was ignorant of cryptocurrency and also in dire need of financial freedom. Since i have no vocational skills and also being a student, this was quite an easy way of earning.
My knowledge of cryptocurrency started with one of this schemes called Mavrodi Mondial Moneybox(MMM) a ponzi scheme where you invest a certain amount of bitcoin and earn 50% increase in your bitcoin after a month. The scheme was okay fo a period of time but later ended up as a scam around November 2016.
Fast forward to this year July, I heard of Steemit from a blooda 
Asides an opportunity to financial freedom, Steemit has given me an opportunity to express my self through writing( steemit has unleashed the writer in me) keeping me busy at a time when i needed to be busy as a result of my institution strike action.
