Failure is one word we do not want to have anything to do with, and in the case of business growth and success, it is almost like an abominable word. Still, in reality, you need to know that the business success you are looking into cannot be achieved without failure.
If you hired a person who made a mistake in your company that cost you a $10,000, would you fire such a person? If your answer is YES, you are right because you want to punish the person who made you lose money but then, do you remember that every mistake is a lesson learnt and th person who made that mistake will avoid such next time which means, when you fire such person, you have fired a person with an experience and training of $10,000 and when another company employ such person, it would have employed a person with a $10,000 experience. That person would not make such a mistake again, but when you hire a new person, there is a chance that the person will make that same mistake.
I remember my chemistry practicals when we were told to perform experiments, we never expected to see 100% result, but we followed the rules. This is the same as life, but it looks like we have all forgotten that we are all experimenting. People have now seen life and everything in it as a scripted movie, which is not. There is nothing that we enjoy today, or no business that is or has been successful ever came out beautiful at first.
In an atmosphere where there is little tolerance for mistakes and errors, the potential to grow is limited. One quote you take from me is that failure is an integral part of success. You need to accept this because it is the truth. It is not failure that is the problem; it is the way it is seen that matters. You cannot let failure define you; you let failures teach you. What would have happened to the successful people today who failed in the past if they had decided to let the failure define them? Their successes would have been buried before it even began.
Because you tried something and it did not work out doesn't make you a failure. What didn't work out is an event; you are a person. Events can happen multiple times, provided the person is willing to let it happen. Learn to separate the event from the person. Failure is simply an opportunity to begin anything again and intelligently after learning from the mistakes of the past.
One day, I will write about my failure because I have failed so well, and I am yet to have a major success because I am still on the move to success. But my failures have made my experience invaluable because it is just a small part of my much larger goal.
