Today was harvest day on my farm, and it gave me time to reflect on the journey of growing my own onion from planting to pulling them out of the soil.
Farming always comes with lessons, and this harvest was no different.
🌿 Lesson 1: Spacing Matters
Some of my onions didn’t grow as big as expected, and I realized spacing played a big role. When bulbs are too close, they compete for nutrients and space.
👉 Next time, I’ll give them more room to expand properly.
💧 Lesson 2: Water Balance is Key
Too much or too little water affects the bulb development. A few onions showed signs of stress, reminding me how important it is to maintain consistent watering.
🌱 Lesson 3: Soil Health is Everything
Healthy soil produces healthy crops. Where the soil was richer and well-prepared, the onions turned out better.
This shows that farming starts from the ground up.
👨🌾 Real Experience from the Field
Not every onion came out perfect, but that’s the reality of farming. Each harvest teaches something new, and every mistake is a step toward improvement.
🌍 Final Thoughts
Harvesting your own food brings a different kind of joy. It’s not just about the crop—it’s about the experience, patience, and lessons learned along the way.
