Hey Homestead fam! ☀️ Just stepping out into the garden this morning in Lusaka and had to share these beautiful blooms.
The deep pink/magenta roses have been putting on such a show lately – so full and fragrant! The lighter pink ones are also exploding with flowers right now. These bushes are thriving despite the heat.
And check out this lovely light purple Duranta (Sky Flower) – the bees are absolutely loving it! It’s a tough, fast-growing shrub that’s perfect for our climate here.
Gardening in Zambia has its challenges (the sun is intense and water management is key), but seeing these flowers makes all the effort worth it.
Anyone else growing roses successfully in the tropics? What’s blooming in your garden right now?
