HI Everyone!
My name is Harshil Patel! I am 25 years old, a health coach and videographer. I graduated college and instead of getting a job, I decided to chase after my curiosities.
These curiosities have lead me down a path of making daily videos on Facebook called Mindful Minute. I started my Facebook page back in April and committed myself to create a 1 minute video every single day. After 8 months of filming everyday, I've amassed several connections and followers. Now I am taking my love for video and storytelling around the world. I booked a One way ticket to Thailand where I plan to explore Asia for 6 months and document and film culture, people's stories, and everyday life. (Starting January 15th)
Here's my facebook page: MindfulMinute
^^ One of my videos where I brought 30 random strangers into one room and had a party with them!
What's my story?
Into my second year of college, I fell into a downward spiral. I couldn't handle the stress of pursuing 2 engineering degrees. I surrounded myself with negative people. And I got diagnosed with Crohn's disease.
During that time, I started reflecting on what I really wanted in life. I kept coming back to the idea of chasing after my childlike curiosities.
^^ Decided to give 5 different people 20 dollars if they did something outside their comfort zone.
So by the age of 19, I told myself enough is enough. I decided to take ownership of my life and create really cool things in the world.
(I decided to suck it up and graduate with 2 engineering degrees from Penn State University. Honestly, I did it for my parents. They worked hard their entire life to see me go to college.)
But during my free time in college, I started creating small things to see what works and what doesn't. I quickly fell in love with video. I noticed how good videos on youtube create a strong emotional response to the viewer. So I decided to go all in on storytelling and video making to help connect people and their stories.
^^ Had the pleasure to document Michael Pilato and his Orlando Mural Project to help remember the victims of the Pulse Night Club Shooting
Why I'm Here
I'm a firm believer of social media and it's ability to connect people. I'm also a firm believer that when you surround yourself with passionate people, you feel empowered to do cool things in the world. After looking through steemit's posts, comments, and the people, I immediately knew this group of people are passionate about life. I can't wait to connect with each and every one of you!

If you got this far, I want to personally thank you! Thank you for reading, commenting, & upvoting. I plan on posting all of my travel videos here. Stay tune!
