The national monument, which we usually call monas, is the monument built to remember the strugle of Indonesians in expelling invades and achieving freedoms.

This monument has a height of 132 meter. The construction of this monument was begun on August 17, 1961 on the order of Soekarno, the president who was in powe at that time.

It began to be opened for public on july 12, 1975. On the top of this monument, there is the crown shaping flame. This Crown is coated with gold which symbolizes the spirit of the burning strugles.
