The school system, t.v. and party scene don't have young people thinking critically. The kids get their heads full of symbolism. Reared on getting careered , treated like a robot and they will rebel. It's important to use intelligent language and not treat them like just a kid with an empty head. Otherwise life gets dumbed down and they won't have a defence against the street lingo of their pals.
If someone is an abusive relationship/social circle there is hazing lingo that can go along with that. Your not cool if you don't take a hit of this drug. What's up and wanna hang! and if that's the only language used, its dumbed down and uncritical. To exit an abusive relationship or group use different words not from the scene. Try to get the ones you care about to speak and think differently about their situation instead of just hanging out being depressed and taking drugs. If the person doesn't want to change or respond to the different way of talking outside of their social sphere, you gotta leave. The other person may get angry if their street lingo doesn't work on you anymore. Get out
Encourage young people to read and take an interest in life - so they don't just hang with their buds but do something creative for themselves and true friends. If they are reading books and expanding their vocabulary they won't be as susceptible to anti-social lingo, t.v. stupidity, or an empty education from the school system. They need a fighting intelligent chance.
Quick blog this morning. Not trying to be preachy or anything just getting these thoughts/concepts out. I will get better at talking about it the more I put it out there. Babble until you speak. and blather till you babble
