Hey Guys, This is my first time on Steemit and I would like to share a quotes to start your day off on an inspirational note. As an athlete in a small country like Singapore it is hard to gain recognition for the sports that I am doing. I've never stop training but like everybody else I have always been striving and finding ways to perfect my art.
Soon after, I hit a wall...a really tall one. It puts me into perspective and made me understand where I stand in this vast world. The art I spend years perfecting is so insignificant compared to those that are from others country. In Singapore, starting amateur boxing at the age 16 is actually considered 'young' and not encouraged by many. My parents would often nag at me in hopes I would give up but I didn't. I had always been a big fish in a very small pond and it humbled me when I sparred with this young Filipino amateur boxer. I got schooled by him but instead of humiliation, I felt enlighten that my boxing have room for improvement.
After all, It is how to look at the issue.. for all I care I could say 'Screw it, I started at 16 but he start at 10 that's why he has better basics'. If I had said that to myself then I would have gave up subconsciously but I didn't. For the time being, I will continue and to improve. I hope that this short story had inspire some of you who faced the same difficulty as me. You are not alone, I am here too.
