Oh oh, struggle incoming!
Today I have very little time, and the blogs about the daily objects that I had worked ahead have come to an end. Oh oh, from now on a struggle to keep up starts. Working ahead has really turned out to be a lifesaver, and I hope to be able to make another series in it tonight or tomorrow. But that was of no use to me for today, alas!
The easy way
So while I was looking around what I could photograph for the day, and of course thinking way too hard, I suddenly noticed that I was smearing my lips with some cream unnoticed. Right! I found my "Everyday Object" for today! And yes, due to lack of time today, I did it the easy way and grabbed just my smartphone for this one today.
So vain
Now I'm not at all so vain that I spend hours in front of the mirror every day. Not at all, but I do take good care of myself. And taking care of your lips is also an important part of personal care. Especially if, like me, you walk outside in all kinds of weather, at least six times a day.
Most sensitive parts of your body
Did you know that your lips are one of the most sensitive parts of your body? They are continuously exposed to constant changes in temperature and weather conditions. Lips contain few sebaceous glands of their own. So if you spend a lot of time outdoors it's important to protect and moisturize them to prevent them from drying out, ripping and cracking. Lip care can also help prevent and reduce fine lines and wrinkles around the lips. And yes, I'm vain enough to think about it for a while. The passing of the years does make me think about this even more consciously now.
Regular use of lip care certainly helps to keep the skin on your lips soft and supple. And to be honest... I think my partner likes that a bit more. LOL.
Beeswax, Shea Butter, Vitamin E ... You name it
Lip care products often contain ingredients such as beeswax, shea butter and vitamin E, which help to moisturize and protect the lips. Some lip care products also contain SPF protection, which protects lips from damage caused by UV rays.
Lip care is also a great way to color and accentuate your lips. This way I don't have to open a complete make-up box in the morning to give my lips a little color. An easy, useful and instant improvement of my look. Um, okay then…I admit it. There is a bit of vanity in it.
An absolute necessity
In short, due to walking outside a lot, a regular use of lip care is an absolute necessity for me. It helps me protect, moisturize and care for my lips, keeping them healthy and well-groomed. It's a little effort that helps me avoid dryness, tearing and cracking. And seriously, once you've had that, you know how annoying that can be. And you do a lot to prevent that. It is an unnecessarily painful and annoying event.
Not a fashion doll
The fact that there are products that also give a little color to your lips is at most a nice bonus, but I personally don't even think that's that important. When I go out for a walk with the dogs in the woods, I don't have to look like a fashion doll. It is more important that I am well protected, which means that I not only choose clothes that protect me well, but also the care products that are necessary for this. Summer and winter, life and thus taking care of myself goes on every day. Walking the dogs ensures that I stay in good shape, and good personal care also helps.
