A perfume tells more about a woman than her handwriting

Another Whaleshares photocontest hosted by . This week the theme was "Product Branding". Again a challenge. An out of the box theme, and out of my comfort zone theme. But also a theme that was 'useable'. Everywhere you look there are product brands. So the choice was ... what brand do I want to show? And how do I want to show it ...
Ultimately, my choice fell on ... something I love. Perfume! Who doesn't like it?
A perfume tells more about a woman than her handwriting
That's what the 'master' Christian Dior once said. And he was right! No sense that is so strongly connected to our emotions as the sense of smell. We need to look for the reason in our brain. Fragrances are processed in a different way than audiovisual stimuli, explains perfume doctor Sofie Albrecht. "Everything we see and hear is processed and refined in a rational way, even before our brains add a reaction to it. This is different for olfactory stimuli: these are located in the emotional part of the brain. As a result, there is no rationalization of information, but it is immediately responded to as a kind of reflex. Because we are also in the emotional network, that reaction is very emotional. "That the scent of lavender brings you back to the bathroom of your grandmother or a fresh shower conjures up memories of wet bike rides to your high school, is not so crazy .
you can't contain your entire personality in just one bottle.
That is why also smells have a huge effect on others. Maybe not as strong as a visual impression, but just because we automatically respond emotionally to a scent, you can also use it in a smart way. Then it becomes a kind of game. Take, for example, when applying for a job: that is not the time to wear something very sensual, but just a business-like, efficient scent. I think of a light fresh smell like citrus. It gives a dynamic impression and doesn't disturb. If you go to a date, you naturally choose a more sensual fragrance. That is why I do not believe in one perfume. Many people have the ideal image of a signature fragrance that suits them. But your entire personality is contained in one bottle? That is not true. I like to compare it with good jeans. You can use it for a lot of moments, but you will not attend a wedding party. The same applies to perfume. In fact, it is an invisible accessory that, like your clothing and make-up, you adapt to the situation and your feeling.
What message do you carry out yourself with your favorite perfume? These are the connotations:
Floral:
This is not for nothing the largest category for women's fragrances. Floral scents radiate femininity. It is the high heels among the perfumes.
Citrus:
This fragrance is typical for the summer, and therefore also gives a fresh impression. It is dynamic and exciting, but also works rejuvenating.
Wood:
A wood scent is a character scent. They are not sensual, you do not wear them to seduce someone, but really for yourself. They radiate maturity and self-confidence.
Spicy:
A fresh herbal scent like fougère is an ideal fragrance for the workplace, they are often used as an aroma in offices. Go rather to the spicy, oriental scents then it is rather sensual about.
Green fragrance:
These perfumes have a meditative character. They betray ambition and self-confidence, because you mainly wear them for yourself, to focus you.
Oriental:
This perfume group exudes sensuality, and is the ideal perfume to seduce someone.
Fruit scents:
With fruity scents we often think of summer, and that is not so coincidental. They are sparkling and light, so you quickly come across as a happy person. But it also makes these scents the ideal boost for yourself if you have a dip.
Trésor is an eminently feminine perfume, which has to represent eternal love. The main tone of the fragrance is rose oil. Furthermore, there are other floral scents, such as iris and lily-of-the-valley, and fruity notes, such as peach. These scents are supported by musk and amber.
