Now that I'm slowly starting to feel a little better, it's time to introduce you to some of my PUNKS who asked me to share their stories. Because it's not always a dream come true in the PUNK world.
Read below the story of Braden Leblanc and Amaya Waters.
Braden Leblanc
Braden Leblanc is a 53 year old Travel Agent. He has enjoyed his profession for many years. He would celebrate his 25th anniversary this year. Yes, WOULD is the right word here. Because Braden hasn't had a job since 1 year. The Covid crisis has cost Braden his beloved job. The agency he worked for had to file for bankruptcy and all employees were out on the street. Braden does receive unemployment benefits, but this is of course less than what he was used to. And in addition, Braden has been given a lot of obligations that he must meet in order to even receive his benefits. As if that weren't enough, Braden struggles with not being able to do the job he loved so much, and has a hard time sitting at home after such a long time. He feels himself useless. The many Covid restrictions don't make that any better either.
Amaya Waters
Amaya Waters, his 49 year old wife is a medical technologist. She is very busy in this Covid crisis. Where Braden sits at home, struggling to find his feet, threatens to sink into a depression, Amaya runs from hot to her and her days are filled with her work to continue to ensure that everything runs smoothly and the necessary medical equipment is 100% in good condition. Amaya's days are long, she is exhausted when she comes home from another busy day at work and despite seeing that Braden is not doing very well, she cannot support him at the moment as she would have before. this Covid crisis. Amaya is too busy with her work, and making sure that she herself can survive this crisis. When she finally comes home after a long day of intensive work, she only wants one thing, some food and rest so that she has the energy the next day to do her work well.
Braden goes out of his way to support Amaya in her busy workdays by keeping the house tidy, making sure there is food when Amaya gets home. But for a man like Braden, who was used to interacting with people all day long, this isn't enough to make him happy.
Because Amaya is so tired of her work, and the Covid restrictions that apply, it is also difficult to do something fun together during the weekend. In addition, Amaya now wants to use the weekends to relax at home and rest, while Braden would like to go away together to relax and be in a different environment than at home.
Can they save their marriage?
In short, their 15-year marriage has been put under quite a strain by the whole situation. And although they both notice this, they have not really found a solution for this yet. Braden thinks he already does so much for Amaya, she doesn't have to do anything at home anymore, he takes care of everything. Only he would love to get some personal attention from her again. Amaya thinks that Braden should now understand that she can't afford it for a while.
It seems like they have reached an impasse, which is such a shame because these two PUNKS used to have such a great relationship together. They fully understood each other, felt each other and were still madly in love after all these years together.
They both hope that the Covid situation will change soon, that Amaya's working days can get back to normal. That Braden quickly finds a job to his liking and that they find each other again. They are not going to give up because despite everything, the love for each other is still there. But it is clear that something has to change, and that something has to happen to find the way to each other's hearts and falling in love again. That too is clear.
