The best performances Weekly! It’s Sunday and like every Sunday it’s time to discuss the NBA Surprises.
Welcome back to my weekly list! Can’t believe it’s week 24 already and the play-offs are just one away! There are so many teams tanking really bad! But luckily there are teams giving it them all to make sure the end up in a good seed for the play-offs or even trying to just squeeze into the play-offs! Who will just make it and who will be disappointed and just miss out? In a weeks we all know!
Like every week I would like to share my take on the most impressive performances and players that surprised me.
I always take in consideration the teams play and winning streak, playing well individually but your team is not does not earn you a spot to the Haas picks list.
By now all teams in the East clinched their play-off spot! Congratulations to the Sixers and the Pacers, really impressive how you showed yourself this year. in the West however there are still two teams that will miss out that are trying to get into one of the final spots. Ready for the top performers of this important week?
Here are my top performances.
Marco Belinelli
Two weeks ago the Italian sharpshooter made the list, last week the other deadly shooter of the team JJ Redick was the top performer. This week I just have to pick another Sixer. When Embiid went down many (including myself) thought they their juice an edge. But look at the Sixers now, they won 13 games in a row! And if they keep this up they will finish 3th in the East. Before the season I predicted them to make the play-offs and mentioned that the “process” was over, but I did not expect them to be that good yet.
Just have a look at my bold prediction before the season below;
this week as mentioned Belinelli made it to the list again scoring over 20 points in this week games and giving the Sixers room to operate because of his shooting threat. Let’s see how they will play the final week of the season, beause being named in Haaslist is fun, but the play-offs is where it all must happen!
“time to win a ring again?”
Ricky Rubio
Like the Sixers I am very impressed by how Utah is playing, they are currently in the 4th seed in the West, which will give them home court advantage in the first round. Before I pick this week’s player, I want to acknowledge how fun it is to me to see a Stockton on the court again in Utah!
This year many Utah Jazz players were highlighted in this list, they just play great team Basketball, this week I want to shine the spotlight on Ricky Rubio the starting point guard. His 3-point shooting improved, his scoring went up and he is still able to assist. they really need his guidance in the play-offs! Good luck and have fun Utah!
Jamal Murray
The Nuggets are not in the play-offs yet they really need a strong final week and hope for the best. They are 1 game out of the play-offs to be exact. This week they did what they needed to do beating the Timberwolves, Bucks in overtime and the Pacers by 3 points. Especially the win against the Timberwolves must have given them a boost. They play the Clippers, Portland and the Timberwolves again in their final game. Very exciting times in the West!
Jamal Murray gave them a scoring punch to win the games they really needed to win and remember he is only in his second year! scoring over 20 points in multiple games this week! Keep up the great play
Sean Kilpatrick
I really don’t like tanking much, I just think it makes the schedule more unfair and think the NBA should look into a solution in the offseason.
The only good part about tanking is that some players will get an opportunity and sometimes that’s all the need. Sean Kilpatrick signed multiple 10 day contract with different times, spend time in the G-league and really tried to survive and succeed as a professional Basketball player. On march 26 he was picked up by the Bulls and he is really showing himself! Scoring almost 20 points on average this week. I really hope he can land a long term deal somewhere!
Hope you liked this week’s picks, the final week of the season will start now! Last chance to get your rotations in order for the play-offs! Back with the final regular season list next week!
