It’s a great idea to use Instagram and Steem together in your social media strategy.
Steem provides the monetization. You can earn hundreds of dollars a week to support what you do, even without a large audience to back you up.
Instagram provides the attention. There is no question that Instagram has the advantage when it comes to getting views for your content. I get a similar number of views per post on Instagram as I do on Steemit, but with only 15% as many followers.
As an added bonus, my Instagram content helps to promote Steem sometimes. This is good for everybody.
How to Use Instagram in Under 200 Words
We all have Instagram, so not everybody needs the basics. Nonetheless, here’s a quick primer for you if you are a noob.
(1) Frequency is everything. You can and should post 3+ times per day.
(2) Quality matters, so learn how to make “Great” insta posts. Best way to do this is to go to lots of hashtags and look at the top 9 posts for each one.
(3) Use 10 hashtags per post. This seems high but is standard and really helps.
(5) Focus on a small niche, the narrower the better I think.
With those five basic tips, you can survive on Instagram.
How to Combine Instagram and Steem
Allow your Instagram blog and your Steem blog to compliment each other. View them as two different tools you can use to share your life with your audience.

You can do an Instagram post for each Steem post that you make. All you need is one good photo and a few sentences talking about the post.
Try to keep your workload small, especially at the beginning. Seek effective strategies, not intense ones.
In the early days “effective” should be more than enough.
Final Thoughts
This is the beginning of an Instagram obsession for me. I hope to build my Instagram blog to the same level as my Steem blog - thousands of organic followers. I’ll document my journey, probably doing about one post per week here about it.
If you disagree with my advice or have any additional thoughts to add, please share your ideas in the comments.
