Hello Steemit! I'm a software engineer in the bay area. I have made a small contribution to Bitcoin core, and for a little over a year, I worked for Domus Tower, which used blockchain technology to help make clearing and settlement more efficient for U.S. equities in the stock market.
In order to do that, I built a Merklized linked list with a throughput of over 1 million transactions per second. Here I am demoing it to bank and accounting firm representative .
Why I love Steemit
I think it's interesting because it's the most functional decentralized organization I've seen. It's a way people can start using cryptocurrency in minutes without spending a dime. It also seems to be a remarkably positive social network, considering that it's open to the world.
Another thing it has going for it is that rewards are paid in dollar-pegged debt notes backed by the cryptocurrency itself.
Right now, Steemit is currently paying more per word for top content than the New York Times.
More To Come
I'm interested in writing more articles about steem / steemit. I am hearing tons of innovative ideas coming from developers and people in the community. Here are some topics I could write about. Please let me know if you think any of these are interesting, or have other ideas for topics you would like me to write about in the future.
- The relationship between steem / steem power / steem dollars
- Other projects built on the steem blockchain
- Other Graphene-based projects outside the steem ecosystem
- Updates on how to market and grow the steem community
- Software improvements to the steemit web interface
