I have an old Nikon D3200 DSLR camera that I use until now. It was purchased back in 2012 and cameras back then weren't that high tech unlike cameras today. So my camera is quite traditional still, you will need to have extra batteries and you have to remove them to charge, which is a hassle for today considering that batteries don't last that long anymore.
My camera also has a problem with the sensor and in it's viewfinder so everytime I use it, I have to turn the Live View mode on which eats up a LOT of the power which means I can only use it max 30 minutes straight maybe.
I don't see myself upgrading my camera very soon as the pandemic happened and I'm focused now on making digital painting and stuff so I'm still okay with it despite a lot of inconvenience.
Power adapter
Just recently tho, a friend told me about a power adapter so I can use the camera without having to worry about recharging the batteries separately. I was like WHUUUT cos I didn't think it was possible as it doesn't have a power plug or whatever lol but when he sent me a link to the product, it made sense.
I bought this on Shopee for $20. It has like uhhh three parts, the one to plug it to a power outlet and the other end directly to the camera which acts as a battery.
This is what you're gonna put directly into where the battery should be.
After plugging it in, then it's unlimited power lol. It's that easy. I can now use it as long as I want but have to make sure it doesn't overheat for using the Live view for too long. And ofc I can only use it indoors. I'm not gonna use this camera for travels/outdoors anymore as it's really not convenient.
What's even more fun is I can also plug this to my laptop and shoot images while being able to see what my camera sees on the screen using digitalcamcontrol.
I can also use this camera and act as a webcam using digitalcamcontrol virtual webcam app.
I only tried it for calls but I don't know if I can use it for streaming since the camera has to refresh every 15 minutes or something cos it can overheat using the Live View mode (it is needed for videos) so it freezes from time to time. It's good already tho and better than buying a webcam for that purpose, but also cos I don't stream or something lol.
This is a very good purchase and very useful tho I just hope that it would last long (as it's made in China lol).
It does its job so money not wasted still. :p
