My friend was recently in prison for 2 years and was just released 3 years ago. When he was in prison, he told me you had to be up a certain time which was at 6:00 AM and also be dressed a certain time. Your cell also had to be clean by 8:00 AM in the morning and if that was not done correctly, you were punished by the guards. After he he was released, he was exploring on the computer a couple days ago, he stumbled upon this site called “Steemit” He also thought about signing up and he did the research and he finally joined. At 5:40 in the morning, he went on the internet and joined “steemit”. He does not have any views or comments on his post so far, so he asked me to quote him and tell his story for him and he encourage for all people to read his story.
“In 2011 at 2:42 in the afternoon I was arrested and everyone was supporting me while I was in jail, because I was at the wrong place at the right time. I was accused of something that I did not do. Everyone says that they did not do anything to be in jail, but like I said, I was at the wrong place at the wrong time. It was in Chicago, where people had fights all the time and I was on the corner of the street just minding my own business and it was right after I came from work. I had the 7 AM shift to 2:00 PM, so I was walking to my apartment. (it takes about 30-35 minutes to walk to my apartment) I see this women on the sidewalk and she was covered in blood and it looked like a bullet got her right in the arm. I was trying to communicate to her and I got no esponse, there was a police that was a block and a half away from me and they saw me. I did not run because then I would make it look like I did something wrong, I stood there and wanted help. But, they thought that I shot the women that was in her early 30’s.
All I could remember from December 12th, 2011 is the police officer saying me to put my hands behind my back. I remained quiet and I did that was told. I arrived in the cell, and I see people that were drug dealers and convicted of murdering others. I remember my mom telling me, “the place you do not want to be in when you get older is jail. Being in a jail cell is a horrible place and just do the right thing when you are outside, always”
So while I was in prison, I got closer to our heavenly father and become more religious as the days went by, I prayed to good every morning and every night that I would get out of prison very soon. During the day, we were allowed to go to go outside in the courtyard and I talked with some prisoners that were going to be held for 15 plus years, and I felt so bad for them. But I told them once you get out of jail, you have a chance to redeem yourself and have a second chance in life, and that’s what I got as soon as I came out of prison. I was very blessed to get another chance, and I thank my heavenly father each day for that.
Everyone deserves a second chance in life, and it is your choice to go in the right direction. Take advantage of what you have in life, because you only live once. Please stay humble and not to give up on yourself, because God has a plan for everyone. God Bless!!"
In 2013, he was finally release and his name continues to remain private. I hope his story is a learning point for others like him and not to get discouraged while you are in prison. Yes, it might be a very tough place be at the moment, but you have to stay positive at all times. When he was reading the bible everyday, he got closer to the heavenly father, and he remains to be a positive person in the local church and to other people. So please comment or give his story to a “upvote” to show support for people like him. Thanks, God Bless!
