On Sunday afternoon a few friends and I hung out by the Motoyasu River just along from the Atom Bomb Dome in the middle of Hiroshima to play some chess.
As you can see, it was a lovely day for it. Sunshine, beer and chess in pleasant company; what more does one need?
A couple of games were unfinished when the party broke up and will be resumed the next time we meet.
Here's the state of play in my game. I'm Black and it's White to move. I'm expecting Ne5. We talked about that option at the end of the session.
For my part, I'm looking at moving my pawn to h6 to see if I can slip my Bishop onto g5 and skewer his Queen and Rook. Something like this:
Ne5 h6, Nxc6 Bg5...
If he responds with Nxc5,
... Bxf4Nxb7, Bxd2
If he responds with Nd8?
... Bxd8, Nxc6? Qb7!
Maybe I'm missing something obvious, ...h3 and ... Bg5 seems like a better way to play than the immediate exchange after Ne5 and Nxc6...
Any thoughts?
