"Goodbye Steemit! Thank You Minnows"
Unfortunately, this is something I've heard many times before. Fellow Steemians who're "struggling" to get recognition and to earn rewards. Many of them blame the "system" and they tell us that the system isn't fair.
Yesterday, I stumbled upon one of these people.
And I thought that I would share the things I wrote on the article.
This Is What I Told Him:
He Replied Back With This:
And This Was My Last Comment:
That Being Said...
I've been here for 20 months. I am active and I spend 40+ hours per week on Steemit. I do something on Steemit 7 days per week. I have gained 2180+ followers since I joined Steemit and it wasn't until now, during these few recent weeks things started to roll for real. One can see it like I've been doing a ton of groundwork during this whole time and finally have been able to get the ball rolling. The snowball effect is powerful and great. - However, I have been rewarded more than well on several articles during this time, and I have had an amazing experience. It's been a steep learning process and an amazing journey. Including all the ups and downs I've had.
I won't lie. I've had my fair share of ups and downs and I'll most likely continue to have those in the future too. I am aware of it. And that's okay. Sure, I don't want these downs, but it's okay, because I believe that everything I do right now, will have an impact for the things that'll come in the future. - I will continue to work hard and I will most likely continue to struggle... - But I am prepared for that.
Steemit welcomes everyone. No matter where you're from or whatever education, job or experience you have. What you must ask yourself, is if you have what it takes to be here.
There is a chance and a possibility that you'll earn hundreds of dollars on your very first post. No matter the quality of it. But that's not likely to happen.
What's more likely, is the fact that you'll have to grind, and continue to grind and be active and do a bunch of things before you'll start to see some success.
But wouldn't you rather do that now, when Steemit is still young and still in beta? Instead of doing it when there's even more competition out there?
Steemit is young, we're in the beginning of 2018. - The longer you wait to start, the longer you'll have to wait to see results. - 2018 will be an awesome year for Steemit... And even though I personally believe that 2019 will be an even better year for us... I definitely recommend that you start now.
Did you earn $1 from your first article or did you earn $5 in total during your first few days on Steemit?
- That's awesome.
Steem is worth ~$6.50 right now and SBD are worth ~$7.20. Your $1 or $5 is valued 7 times that in USD. And before you start thinking that Steemit is "unfair". - How much have you ever earned from Facebook or Twitter?
- Oh, zero? - Just like I thought!
