There was no clouds, no wind at all, but the first 10mins of this ride I was freezing. Once you hit that groove, the rest of the ride was pure joy :-)
The quote is from our friend kiwibloke, the author of the cover photo. I think that in such a simple and brief way it sums up the spirit of cyclists. The weather doesn’t matter once you’re already on the bike. Under the sun that cooks the skin or with frozen bones, there comes a moment when you simply surrender to enjoyment… what counts is showing up, doing the route even if your mind has a thousand excuses not to.
And so we greet you today, fellows of this great community.
How are you feeling? How far do you plan to go?
😀
We’re glad to see how more and more community members are getting inspired to write descriptions of their routes on Strava. Some are already adding extra details and even including more photos. That truly makes us happy.
I’ve added a new metric to the summary of the Strava2Hive service participations: the average speed, calculated according to the time of the ride and the kilometres covered. So now we have another podium. Take a look below.

Here we have the super‑fast crew.
Alright, no jokes. The experts say that: A cyclist who maintains average speeds between 28 and 31 km/h usually has great aerobic capacity, efficient biomechanics, and optimised aerodynamics. This level of performance reflects not only physical fitness, but also careful attention to posture, equipment, and pacing.
😇
Around this topic we could have our prompt for the week. So… come on, it’s time to share your training sessions, your routines, or simply say what physical conditions an athlete needs to be able to sustain speeds of more than 30 km/h — and for how long they can keep it up.
So let’s recognize our writers below. You can still leave them a vote, an emoji, or a small comment on their contributions. Thanks, guys.

A pleasant post with a video included, but beyond friendlymoose’s enjoyment there is also his intention to keep improving and helping this community grow.
I've created a QR code that can be used to create an account for free. The account has some HP, so can be used immediately to interact on Hive.
I hope he includes the new QR at the end of this post. 😉

We always enjoy Nozem01’s posts; he always has plenty to tell us about his rides, but also about technical matters and other ventures such as gamified cycling.
He also often reminds us of things like: cheap ends up being expensive! haha

You can reply in the comments of this post, or include your answers to these questions in your own bike‑related post — that’s what we’re here for. We already have a paparazzi, but you can also become one and bring photos of the cycling infrastructure in your area, your neighbours’ bikes, strangers’ bikes, or anything else connected to this beautiful pastime and/or sport.
As you can see, I’m leaving ideas for you to get inspired.
