Howdy to you all, my fellow Midnight Owls,
Here is the new prompt for the Midnight Owls:
What’s something funny that made you laugh at yourself?
In this new prompt of the week, it was a bit too serious, where we were talking about what pissed us off recently or in the past. This time around us do something funny with our storytelling. Let us talk about a time we laugh at ourselves for something funny we did. It could be anything that made you take a deep laugh at yourself.
Before I share something funny that made me laugh at myself with you all, first let us take a look at some highlights from some Midnight Owls, using the previous prompt: What’s the most unserious thing that affected your mood today?

Now, let's listen to the funny story that made me laugh at myself.
Mine was a funny sunny day when I wanted to have a daily rant with my friend over the phone. I recently realized that I am quite lazy at texting, especially when it comes to giving long messages when I have to narrate a lot, or I am having an extended conversation with my friend. This was one of those days where texting does not even come close to what I have to say, so I had to settle for sending a long voice note. This kind of voice note was the type where I had to clear my throat so my voice could be very audible to my friend who would listen to it. After two coughs, I decided to record the voice note. I took my time to explain the entire rant I had installed for my friend, and when I clicked send, I decided to listen to my voice note as well.
Oh my, oh my, my voice was horrible. I sounded like a crack on a microphone with a cracked sound. I choose to believe that WhatsApp is responsible for the drop in quality of my voice. Making it sound so cracked, like I never expected. That voice did not belong to me. That is the lie I told myself to make me feel whole, but man, it was enough. I had a good laugh at myself when I was listening to the voice note, and so did my friend. It felt like we both knew that voice was a crack man's voice, and the laughter kept coming. At some point, my voice was the topic of discussion.
What is yours?
