Hello everyone and a happy Sunday to you all. It is a new week already and we are talking about creativity Sunday.

I will be sharing with you a little tip on how to reduce the bitter taste of your bitter leaf so that it will be presentable in your dish...hahaha.
Many of us may know this plant and some may. I can remember during one of my trips to Delta State Nigeria I got to a particular location and I saw how they used the plant to make a fence around a particular compound. I just shouted see money dey waste for here ooo. As funny as that may sound but that is what it is. Bitter leaf plant is an economic point in the sense that the leaf can be sold for money and people enjoy eating it a lot because of the many health benefits.
Back to my point, just this weekend I was able to get some leaves from my compound for my cocoa yam soup. I had to wash it to reduce the bitterness. The steps are not difficult and I know you can do it even better than I did.
There are two different plants of bitter leaf. One is the very bitter leaves that take a long time to watch. That plant's leaves are not so wide and the sweet bitter leaf can be said to be the improved version. It doesn't take much time to be washed and the leaves are wider than the previous. This one you can say is the improved one.
- Plug the leaves from the farm

- Keep it under the sun for some time. Why you do this is so that the leaves will not break so much during the washing. For cocoyam soup, most people prefer the leaves to be long.

Wash it a little to remove dust and dirt
You can start washing.

NB: Mine didn't take me more than 10 minutes to wash because it is the improved version. Also, some people make use of salt to prevent it from breaking so much and to be sweet in time. Also, they make use of palm oil so it does not stop foaming. So I didn't have to do all that because of the species of bitter leaves
Hoping to see your bitter leaf washing process.
Thanks for reading.
