Brother Eli give us a reminder that discipleship is not an event but a lifelong work with God.
John 8:31 gives a clear message that believing is not just enough, we must continue in Christ's word to be his true disciple, what is important is the emphasis that studying scripture is not just measured by our time or milestone like baptism, it is a lifetime commitment.
Baptism is not the finish line it is just the
beginning of salvation. So in Matthew 28:19-20, this shows that even after baptism comes the teaching, we observe, we obey and we keep going. This faith keeps maturing to be consistent in the world.
We are not counting how many times we should open, the Bible but we must keep dwelling in it daily. God speaks more as we faithfully live at what we already know. We are living in a world that feeds on confession and temptation.
This message is calling us back to be devoted. And the children in faith, we are now which must be guided. And we must be corrected by the word of God. So as we keep going, we are taught not only about to observe. This Christianity is perseverance. We must continue in the word which is the proof of genuine discipleship.
