Hive’s game layer hit an inflection point this week: @risingstargame posted an official future-of-Rising-Star announcement while @keychain opened multichain closed beta—and @ninaeatshere’s Madrid meetup invite still claimed 228 HP, carrying the meetup energy from issue #82’s Alicante thread.
This is HiveToday—a weekly recap of the Hive blockchain ecosystem.
New here? Hive uses delegated proof-of-stake: token holders elect witnesses who produce blocks. You can blog, comment, and play games without paying gas on every click. The chain has been live since March 2020.
Editor's Take
Three plot lines converged.
First, long-running games are no longer background noise. Rising Star broke the week with a headline post about where the music game goes next—on the same calendar as Splinterlands’ Electroneum Voltage event and a fresh SarmacjaMundi beta guide on C/HiveDevs. Hive’s play-to-earn catalog is aging in public, not in silence.
Second, discovery became an engineering problem. @iamkaye earned 218 HP on an SEO post; @ecency, @pharesim, and @friendlymoose shipped tools for search and account health. The content is fine—the index is the bottleneck.
Third, trust moved to the wallet edge. Hive Keychain entered multichain closed beta while Magi answered the Hive Engine breach with a public statement and a security report—two reminders that user keys and second-layer markets share the same reputation budget.
The Story of the Week: Rising Star’s Future—and a Meetup Circuit That Won’t Quit
On May 23, @risingstargame posted Important Announcement Regarding The Future of Rising Star. It is a rare official reset note from one of Hive’s oldest music games. Read the post for details—the big picture is that a flagship game is telling its story on-chain instead of going quiet.
The same week brought Splinterlands’ Electroneum × Voltage event and beta buzz from SarmacjaMundi, a strategy game that uses Hive Keychain, HBD, and Hive Engine parcels with block-hash turns.
The meetup thread from issue #82 kept rolling. @ninaeatshere’s Madrid Hive Meetup invite ranked #2 in weekly author rewards at 228 HP, with 61 comments and 1,198 votes. @enraizar’s Alicante recap still made the top ten (148 HP, 93 comments).
Development Pulse
Core devs merged balance-class fixes and a patch for first payouts that were too large. Hivemind added endpoints for pending author and curation rewards. Hivesense improved sync reliability; Wax got a small chain-data fix.
On C/HiveDevs, @friendlymoose launched an account health dashboard; @inertia shipped Let’s Hive Together; @sagarkothari88 integrated a unified Snaps feed in HiveSuite; @thecrazygm added language filters to HiveTools; and @ecoinstant added Markdown downloads for agents on HiveTools.
3Speak merged pay-per-listen tracking and playlist APIs in 3speakchecks, alongside the encoder network’s Week 24 report.

Network Stats

| HIVE market cap | ~$32.9M |
| CoinGecko rank | #657 |
| 24h change | −0.41% |

HBD explained: HBD is Hive’s dollar-pegged token. When too much HBD exists relative to HIVE value, the chain can stop minting new HBD—print rate 0 means that brake is on now. Treasury HBD in is handled separately (see issue #75 for more).
Powering up: Net power-down this week, with big single moves still landing—including 100,000 HIVE from to
