@hjrrodriguez/photographs-of-plants-that-are
This morning, when I woke up, I saw my dad among the plants. He was doing what I'm showing you in the photos: using an old broom to apply a liquid all over the trunks of two avocado trees to protect them from fungi and give them the strength they need to support the fruit they already have. As I mentioned, the fruit has been falling off, and a farmer friend of my dad's recommended a supposedly very good natural remedy to prevent this and give the trees extra strength.

That remedy is common ash; That is, what remains after burning for a long time is collected and mixed with a little water and soap to provide protection not only against diseases but also against insects that might try to harm them.

It's a relatively quick process, and I was lucky to wake up early because the farmer who told me about it, besides bringing the ash, also showed me how to prepare it. Then my dad would do it, applying the liquid to the main trunk of the plant (as far as his arm could reach). That's the measurement. It leaves a film that's almost impossible to see with the naked eye; you have to be there to notice that something was added. However, in the round basin where the water is placed when watering, you can see the soil clearly.

So we're working and asking for help protecting our plants and the upcoming harvest. Any natural remedy is always welcome, so if you know of any, please leave them in the comments of this post so we can try them out and give these plants the care they deserve. You'll find more details in upcoming posts here in the #hivegarden community because there's definitely still a lot to do.
