In Venezuela there used to be a time where presents were received not from Santa but from the three Magi Kings (or wise men), which is still celebrated on January 6th. There are twelve days from Christmas (the Birth of Christ) to the Día de Reyes (the coming of the three Magi kings). These “Twelve days of Christmas” were immortalized in a funny cumulative song (like the cumulative tales) some centuries ago. So, I decided to write a parody of that song making my own list of petitions for Christmas.
This is my entry to 's contest. You can see the details here
Here’s a sample of the many versions of the song (so that you have an idea of the rhythm).

My Letter to Santa
On the first day of Christmas, Santa I’m asking from thee:
A chicken on a mango tree.
On the second day of Christmas, Santa I’m asking from thee:
Two fluffy pillows
And a chicken on a mango tree.
On the third day of Christmas, Santa I’m asking from thee:
Three valid passports
Two fluffy pillows
And a chicken on a mango tree.
On the fourth day of Christmas, Santa I’m asking from thee:
Four dishes full
Three valid passports
Two fluffy pillows
And a chicken on a mango tree.
On the fifth day of Christmas, Santa I’m asking from thee
Five sets of clothes
Four dishes full
Three valid passports
Two fluffy pillows
And a chicken on a mango tree.
On the sixth day of Christmas, Santa I’m asking from thee
Six phones a-working
Five sets of clothes
Four dishes full
Three valid passports
Two fluffy pillows
And a chicken on a mango tree.
On the seventh day of Christmas, Santa I’m asking from thee
Seven lives a-living
Six phones a-working
Five sets of clothes
Four dishes full
Three valid passports
Two fluffy pillows
And a chicken on a mango tree.
On the eighth day of Christmas, Santa I’m asking from thee
Eight planes a-flying
Seven lives a-living
Six phones a-working
Five sets of clothes
Four dishes full
Three valid passports
Two fluffy pillows
And a chicken on a mango tree
On the ninth day of Christmas, Santa I’m asking from thee
Nine friends a-sharing
Eight planes a-flying
Seven lives a-living
Six phones a-working
Five sets of clothes
Four dishes full
Three valid passports
Two fluffy pillows
And a chicken on a mango tree
On the tenth day of Christmas, Santa I’m asking from thee
Ten pets a-playing
Nine friends a-sharing
Eight planes a-flying
Seven lives a-living
Six phones a-working
Five sets of clothes
Four dishes full
Three valid passports
Two fluffy pillows
And a chicken on a mango tree
On the eleventh day of Christmas, Santa I’m asking from thee
Eleven stars a-shining
Ten pets a-playing

Eight planes a-flying
Seven lives a-living
Six phones a-working
Five sets of clothes
Four dishes full
Three valid passports
Two fluffy pillows
And a chicken on a mango tree
On the twelfth day of Christmas, Santa I’m asking from thee
Twelve months a-smiling
