Most days, I go for a walk around the block. Sometimes I go in one direction, other days, I go another. In the park near my house, there's a number of trees. I've passed these trees for almost a year, never taking notice, however, this morning, in the early morning light, one particular tree jumped out at me as being particularly pleasing.
When you stop to look at the image (unfiltered other than a slight crop) - it almost looks like it is cell shaded. The blue chromatic abberation sneaking in from the right is a result of shooting with the sun being on the other side of the tree and light bleeding in and around.
This image is a classic case of stopping, looking at the things near you, and avoiding the cultural cringe of needing to go to far flung, foreign places to capture something through a lens, that is at the very least, mildly visually interesting.
I've said a few times throughout recent rambling blogs and comments that I want to start doing photography again on a regular basis - but its not the 'popular' sort of photography, my work tends to focus on the un-noticed, ephemeral things.
I do love taking portraits, however; and pushing my own intepretation on the poses and subjects.
