We had some nice weather here on monday evening, so my wife and I made the most of it and went down to Crammond on the edge of Edinburgh for a walk along the shore.
Normally we walk along the path further up from the shore, but on monday we went right down by the waters edge and walked along the beach.
The clouds were looking quite ominous, as if it was going to rain and as such was making for some nice pics.
We started out near the causeway which takes you over to Crammond Island. The tide was full in, so the causeway was covered. I'd checked the tide times before hand, so knew that it was going to be the case.
From there we just made our way along the beach, right beside the sea. It was lovely to hear the lapping of the small waves against the beach. I find the sound to be very calming.
Part way along the beach we noticed the end of a rainbow out to sea.
It was fairly faint, but I just managed to catch a panorama pic of the whole arch - the other end was touching down on land.
The flight path for Edinburgh Airport goes right over the shore at Crammond, and I managed to catch a pic of one of the planes coming into land crashing into the rainbow ! Well maybe not - but I like the dramatic sound of that !
We continued along the shore until the light started to fade, and it got cooler. We passed a nice large piece of drift wood just before the point where we turned around to come back.
I was also enjoying the patterns the water was making in the gravely parts of the shore after a wave had hit and started retreating back down the beach.
We really were both glad that we had got out. It was such a nice evening to see the sun fading, the rainbow and hear the sounds of the shore.
We walked for about 45mins total. It was a nice amount for an evening walk after work and we both thoroughly enjoyed it !
All the best from Scotland !
