(Originally wrote this just a Facebook post to my LongboardHive group, but it got long enough I figured I’d just make it a post.)
I know it seems I haven’t been posting all the much, and I just wanted you all to know that it’s because I’ve been super busy with some work on the back end, on a secret project! I can’t give out much details so no one steals our plans, but it’s going to involve us having our own app, token, and the ability to customize a lot of the interface to our liking. This will allow you to not only keep earning Hive, but also other crypto tokens at the same time!
To top this off, I plan to create a fund to use for sponsoring events, communities, and to make an ambassador program where we power up people’s accounts, so they can give away likes worth significantly more money.
Our goal is to break the dependence on mainstream social media platforms that have a monopoly on our content, since these corporations make tons of money off selling our data, advertising to us, and give us nothing in return for all the traffic we bring to their sites. Sure maybe a few people are making money off YouTube, but it’s a very small group, and they usually have help from a brand who constantly puts out media.
This also could change the sponsorship model as we know it, because now anyone can earn from content they create. Furthermore companies can also use this platform to sponsor riders by buying Hive Power for their accounts, then voting on any rider who rides their gear, or rocks their logo. Aside from the buying of Hive power, which in itself could go up and be a profitable investment, there is no cost to upvoting content, as it in fact earns them more for the act of curating content. However since I’m sure at first companies will be hesitant to invest in something new like this, we will be selecting a few skater owned companies to include in our initial ambassador program. That way they can give it a try at most cost to themselves, but actually at a profit, for simply participating.

Also if you know people in companies, let them know about this plan, get them on board, and let’s all work together to grow this!
