Hi everybody,
There is a lot of activities going on because Montreal is turning 375! Everybody has to come to this wonderful city to celebrate :-) . This afternoon was one of the Giants parades at Montreal. The spectacle was especially created by the French theater company Royal de Luxe. It was very impressive to see more than 50 puppeteers controlling this large scale puppets! Also the details of the puppets were far from what I have imagined...wow
The parade started with the dog Xolo. You can see the string and pulleys used for the movements.
Then, followed "Le Scaphandrier", dropping water as is he was just leaving the ocean.
The giant Little Girl was closing the parade. saying hello to everybody.
It seemed as is half of Montreal population were there.
I moved to another point of the city but I had to do it very fast because the Giants are not that slow as you may think.
The Little Girl was happy posing for pictures :-)
At the end, they removed all the strings and put "Le Scaphandrier" in a container. It was a bit sad, it seemed as they were hanging it to death.
The Little Girl was also transported in the air but...
unlike her friend she finished in a boat for continuing her trip
In any case she had to use a coat (what a nice detail!)
Bye Little Girl, bye Giants
Au revoir Petite Géante, au revoir Scaphandrier, au revoir Xolo
