Morning Sunrise in Paris

This painting was inspired by a random early morning walk across the Trocadero back in March 2011. I highly recommend going to the Trocadero at early morning to watch the sunrise behind the Eiffel Tower.

I depicted this scene using oil on canvas. Because it was early in the morning, not a lot of lighting was present, but that being said, the early morning sunrise brought shades of some yellow and orange amongst the cooler colors in the sky including purple, blues, and greens. I really loved this contrast, and felt the need to have the contrasting warm and cool colors clash.

The foreground has the Eiffel Tower as well as the Trocadero Plaza in the front.
