It was Mother's Day weekend. Not that I wanted anything special because I do think everyday is a special day, and everyday is a gift of life bestows on me to spend moments with loved ones, but 'Happy Mother's Day' was created once upon a time, and so people regard this day as a day of celebration. I couldn't celebrate with my mother physically because she is at another state which can only be accessed by flying on plane. Thankful for technology which enabled us to video call each other. We also contacted a friend from the same state and got a cake delivered to her.
A diabetes-friendly cake so that my father could eat together too.

We did not go to Aunt's place as my car got into a minor accident when my brother drove it, so that car was in 'hospital' at the moment. I was mentally and emotionally tired a bit from all the procedures of insurance claim and etc. Husband let me used his car for awhile so that I got a moment for myself. Since I miss my parents, I went to a shop which sells Sibu, Sarawak food. I ordered this dish called "zhao cai hong ngang" which was a type of rice noodles in sourish soup made from preserved vegetables, usually the soup comes with prawns, slices of pork, tomatoes and fish cakes. So yummy and it tasted like home.

After that, I packed for home — stir fry flat rice noodles and stir fry Sarawak vegetables called 'manicai'.

The boys had art class from 4pm - 5:30pm. And I had some time with husband at our weekly hang out place - Lucky Star Restaurant. He ordered for himself pork noodle soup, with pork and pork liver. I ordered Sarawak laksa, a type of rice noodle in curry soup.
I really miss home. Sarawak is at East Malaysia, and now I am at Kuala Lumpur, West Malaysia.

When we picked them from art class, they did a Mother's Day art for me, guided by the art instructor of course.

The Next Day
I love Sunday the most. There is no better day than Sunday, to be able to go church together, worship with other people and to listen to the Word. All the mothers got the privilege to be prayed for. I am always blessed, being surrounded by great people around me to steer me towards to correct direction. I see how mothers around me, young and old, always go all out to love. And love unconditionally. Great are their hearts. Sorry, no photos as I seldom attend to phone when I am at church.
But, I had one photo when we had impromptu birthday celebration with a baby boy named Ralph who turned one year old. Children are the happiest beings on earth. 😊

It was also vaccination day for my boys, so we had a quick lunch at a restaurant nearby the clinic. Restaurant Haji Tapah which serves Indian mixed rice food.

Look at yummy choices they had. I always had trouble deciding which to choose. In the end, I chose chicken kurma, cabbage and some gourd. Husband chose beef rendang and vegetables.

After dinner at home, husband asked whether anyone interested to go out for some cuppa tea or hot chocolate. Me! Me! Me! We were all interested. So we drove to nearby Old Town Coffee. It was just being refurbished so everything looked so nice now.

After busy Saturday and Sunday, suddenly husband remembered to take photo of me and the boys, for Mother's Day. Haha. Well, I told my husband that everyday is Happy Mother's Day. Don't believe? Every single minute, the boys call "mummy this..." and "mummy that...". Even if the father was right in front of them, if they needed help, they still call out to mummy first. Lol.

I packed the youngest son's dinner from home. Husband ordered soft-boiled eggs, hot chocolate, soymilk and toast bread for us all.

With that, I conclude my weekend's journal. Life is not easy, everyone has their own's ups and downs, but I learn to find moments to give thanks. A heart of gratitude always help me to fix my thoughts on good ones. Thankfulness drives away complaint. I remembered earlier in the week, I saw rainbow in the sky. Double rainbow although my phone couldn't capture the second faint one. It reminded me of God's promises. It reminded me after every storm, there will be rainbow.
Rainbow captured at my apartment, when I was about to drive out to the main road.
