A Whole New World

I was ecstatic the day my steemit account was approved. I stumbled upon Steemit while checking a post in Instagram. One of the artists I follow happened to be a Steemian. To my delight my former boss Hive account@beatenegg is also happy steeming here. My colleague Hive account@keedxxx who’s into photography is also here. I decided to sign up after reading some interesting posts and having an understanding that you get paid for good content. That’s every social media user’s dream. Despite the excitement it took me some days to finally write my introduction.

Introducing oneself in writing is quite a challenge. I believe a person is more than his name. The combination of a person’s temperament, peculiarities, complexities and interests is what sets John apart from all the other Johns you would meet in your lifetime. Having said that I would start this introduction by sharing my interests, a little bit about my lifestyle and other things that keep me occupied as an earthling. My name would be at the latter part of the introduction.

I have an office job that requires me to be awake during night time and asleep during the day. Mr. Sun is our friend, but I need to shun away from him during the day by covering my window with very thick curtains. The batwoman in me finds time to sleep in the dark with a little help from the curtains.

I’m a transitioning vegan. I was a vegetarian for more than two years. Yes, I’ve been asked so many times about my sources of protein and iron. I would write about that one of these days.

I like animals. I grew up in a house where cats and dogs are treated as family members. Kiwi is one of our family dogs. She's a proud aspin or Asong Pinoy. Aso means dog.

My hometown has clean rivers until this time. Most of the people have farms. Ours is almost 2 hours away from our house. This explains my love for nature. Below is one of the rivers in our town:

I like taking pictures, reading and cooking plant-based meals. Maintaining a plant-based diet has somehow improved my cooking and photography skills. :D

Before I end this introduction, I would like you to know that I’ve been asked so many times about Aladdin’s whereabouts. My parents named me Jasmin and being teased to a fictional character is just part of the deal. I go by the nickname Jas. Welcome to my world!
