I just wanted to give the Hive community a heads up since several people, including myself, have lost money here on Hive in a way that could have been avoided. I'd rather other people not make this mistake so this is what happened...
I checked the price of HBD, which my wallet displayed around $0.93. I sent a few HBD to the Hive Engine which charges you 1% of whatever you send. My deposit arrives and I was credited my HBD being worth $0.26 since they have it being pegged to the amount. I quickly realize this and send my funds back to my wallet.. and receive another 1% charge. I only sent over a few HBD so my loss was very minimal, but checking the wallet history of where my funds were sent off to, I can see quite a few others have also lost funds that could have been prevented.
If someone was to submit a large deposit, they could lose a very large amount by this simple oversite. Do not be that person!
