Howdy, lovely souls!
A new week has begun in my side of the world, whew! Time flies! It's Monday and it's V-Day!
We are up early today, the husband said we are going somewhere and I'm excited! Haha! Whilst he prepares breakfast, I am taking the chance to write this for the day's spot :)
A few days ago, I teased him where he's going to date me on Valentine's Day and he just said "surprise." Well, not that I am expecting because I don't like the commercialized way of celebrating the day. Although I used to like it way, way, way back. But it was a lot better then than nowadays.
Anyway, where ever and whatever he is planning for the day, I am a good team player and I'll do my part and enjoy the game, hehe.
Today, there will surely be many couples tying the knot and exchanging vows. It usually happens every year. Maybe it feels romantic getting married on a Valentine's Day, only they know :)
This month marks the 20th year of the farmboy and I's relationship, 8 years mostly spent far apart and going 12 years in April as a hubby and a wife. Counting the years, I can hear my thoughts screaming, "Really? Wow..." Well, I feel young, how those years gone by so fast really amazes me and makes me travel into wonderland, lol!
It makes me feel proud too, just thinking about how we were able to withstand the challenges of a long distance relationship way back in our youth. We must have been really in love :)
Thanks to technology for making it easier, chats and phone calls and yes, writing letters and stuff. It is more romantic to receive handwritten love letters, don't you think?
But of course that wasn't all, it takes unwavering commitment, love and more. Perhaps we were just lucky or were we really meant to be? Hmmm...
I often say relationships need work and must be done by the parties involved. Just one playing the part, chances are, the relationship fails.
And no matter how strong a relationship is, it still goes through challenges of some sort. And I can't deny that ours had been too. Thankfully, we weathered such storms of distance, time and of life and here we are, still feeling pretty much young at heart, and proudly in love, haha!
"Life's like a box of chocolates. You will never know what you're going to get," as Forrest Gump puts it and that's all I have to say too :)
Thank you and I wish you love and more love still!
