Last two months I have study about mushroom. You know, mushroom is a highly nutrition valued food in the world. But it is less popular in our country. One of reasons, we know the mushroom as a fungi but nothing. Generally oyster and button mushroom are cultivated in our country. We may enjoy some benefit for them as like as weight management, improve nutrition, optimal vitamin D level, digestive function and antibacterial properties. That's why I would like to cultivate this fungi. But when I am informed about Gano mushroom, I am astonished
Gano mushroom means Ganoderma Lucidum. Commonly known as Reishi mushroom. It is rich in polysaccharides, triterpenoids, polypeptides and trace elements that are readily absorbed by the body. It prevented the multiplication of cancer cells in a dose- and time-dependent manner. It contains potassium, protein, alkaloids phosphorus, calcium, Vitamin A, B complex and vitamin E, D, C. Now a days you will be pleasant to know that it is not also use as supplements but also use as a medicine. Chinese and Japanese herbalists have traditionally recommended Reishi mushrooms for supporting healthy sleep patterns.
But what are the peoples of Bangladesh thinking about Ganoderma ? Less than 8% peoples are known to Reishi mushroom. Most of people don't know about the benefit of Reishi. For this reason, Reishi cultivation didn't expand in Bangladesh. On the other hand, we are not interest to buy Reishi due to high market price in the world (1 Pound dried Reishi = $32). Even then we can grow it easily in our country. Because the weather of our country is suitable for growing Reishi mushroom. But Lack of entrepreneur this splendid herbal supplement has been kept in the darkness.
I am trying to setup a Reishi mushroom plant. If I want to start it in the sense of business, it will not be profitable due to less demand in our country. But I want to establish it as a high nutrition valued food in our society. I hope when our people will be informed about the benefits of Reishi mushroom, they will buy this product and try to grow it in their own area.
